i'm not quite sure how you're dying..... how many are you aggroing at one time? it should be easy to only aggro 4 or 5, which are easily survivable. especially with Spirit bond as an emergency button. i don't know if you're trying to aggro all the kappa and all the mantids, or if you're having other troubles. my guess is that you're aggroing more than 10 mantids or so, which you can't do with this build. you kill them one at a time anyway, so aggroing them all at once won't help.

I'll try pulling maybe this time (I use a totem axe so I'll replace it with a blood wayward wand and try)
Other question is how do you avoid interrupts in UW. When I 55 with my monk there I usually get 2-3 spells interrupted and I'm done for. Thanks for response. I'm totally copying all your 3 builds and trying them out one at a time.

interrupts? no problem.
one last thing to make sure of: you must use AL15 armor for spirit Bond to trigger as often as possible. i hope that helps your kinya province situation.
as for UW interrupts, they're easy to counter. just use Mending 3 times, let it get interrupted 3 times, and then cast SS + suffering. that's for the aatxes anyway. for the graspings, pull by casting SS on one, use PS when they get close, let them each hit once with distracting Blow and then use Healing Breeze and Suffering. they'll be dead in no time.

This guide is great
Just a quick question, I've been farming the desert quite a bit recently, but which do you think gives better drops, hydras or blessed griffons?
This guide has been the totem for all my 55'in, keep up the good work!

griffons or hydras...
you mean DESERT griffons, right? assuming you do, they both give pretty good drops, however, there are less griffons than hydras. i tend to clear out all the hydras in skyward reach, then go on to vulture drifts and clear out the griffons and the sand elementals and sand drakes and minotaurs. also, (big surprise!) you get tons of elementalist related golds (wands, staffs, offhands) from hydras, but griffons (i like them) have a great gold long sword droprate, which a lot of people like. i got 50k for a req. 10 15^50 one.

update that makes FoW farming WAY easier.
07/24/07 - i read Godlike Satan's old SB guide on the FoW, and changed the FoW build and tactics. is now 500% easier to do, and my survival rate has been perfect with the new build.

one thing i need to tell everyone: i'm perfectly okay with people pming me in game and asking questions, but if you pm me, PLEASE make your questions logical. don't ask me for money (you know who you are), threaten to hack my account if i don't give you a demo (again, you know who you are) and please don't ask questions that i've answered in the guide / posts about the guide. my friend has been using my account for a little bit (i let him make a couple characters to get a feel for GW) and he's been bombarded by (stupid) questions and demands. again, pming me is fine, as long as it's a logical question / comment.

Fuzzie, is asking you to do a UW HM run video too much? I already tried 5 times and I always fail.
Thanks.

i can probably do a video, i'll just DL one of them fancy shmancy video making type programs. however, i'm a little busy lately with real life commitments, so please don't pressure me about the video. i don't handle pressure well. :P

Anyone else having trouble farming the FoW? I'm going in as 105... and I can only last about 10seconds on the first group. I'm casting Vigorous Spirit last to cover for any Enchant strips.... but my healing just cant keep up.

FoW problems... solved!
well, angelo, the FoW isn't an easy solo to begin with. however, i have changed the build a bit to make it a whole lot easier. the fix? replace Vigorous Spirit with Spirit Bond. (i changed it recently in the guide, adding another FoW change considering this got bumped up.) use SB as a cover enchantment and to pop up your health to max, especially with burning and the group to the right of Rastigan. also, run 55 health in the FoW, 105 health makes the run a WHOLE lot harder.
well, i guess i'll save myself a post and tell y'all the change right here: i'm changing the shadow army route to FoW. instead of immediately taking on that right group, i'll change it for the easier to go AROUND the big group, kill the 2 monk 1 mesmer group, the 2 patrolling ele's, and the monk / 2 warrior groups. then you cvan go after the huge, beasty group to the right of Rastigan without aggroing the two patrolling eles, which can push you over the edge.

Hi Taco, I have been using the standard 55 necro SS build, but am having trouble facing anything with dgen using mend + HB (bug maybe?). can you suggest any tips for a new necro farmer (limited to holycon job atm), that has experience with 105 monk + 55 a bit, 330 rit, ranger, and tried dervish farming slightly.
Also would 105 necro be usable to farm as SS, cos thats what I,m used to with monk?

I'm sure Taco won't mind me answering some questions for you (or do you, Noodle ). If you have problems facing degen with Mending + Healing Breeze (that's a hell lot of degen) you can try putting some other skills in your skillbar that can save you. The best choice would be probably Spirit Bond, heals your full health bar for a reasonable amount of time, unless you are facing mobs bigger than 8/10+.... Or you can try Insidious Parasite, which heals you for 45 health every time an enemy hits you with an attack (or ofcourse both, which is needed in FoW). Running 105 would be possible, but not that efficient since you will have to add Blessed Aura to your bar with no points in Divine Favor (you don't need to, all together 105hp isnt that great for a Monk secondary, too much energy). If you want to face huge mobs, you however CAN go 150hp with a +45 hp mod when enchanted. Use Protective Spirit and alter between Shielding Hands and Shield of Absorbtion to get zero damage every hit .
